Join us at Sale Library as we welcome Australian author Kate Solly, who will be chatting to fellow author Lisa Ireland about her latest novel 'The Paradise Heights Craft Store Stitch Up.' Meet Fleck Parker: Mother, Crafter and Amateur Detective. Fleck loves a good puzzle. She spends most of her time feeling invisible, caring for three small children, and that's fine, really. But it does make her brain itch occasionally. When Trixie, fellow school-mum and avid crafter, is accused of stealing money from Many Hands, the women's charity known for its charming store full of handmade crafts, Fleck feels compelled to investigate and clear Trixie's name. From playground stakeouts to tailing cars while nursing the baby to sleep, Fleck and Trixie uncover a case more complex than either of them could have imagined. Will they crack the case? Live The Life You Please - Film Screening at Maffra Library

Wednesday 29 May 2024
Live The Life You Please is a film-led social impact campaign that will change the way you think about the last chapter of your life. Told by medical professionals, patients and their families, it is an intimate portrait of the end-of-life experience and makes profound observations about life, death and what happens in between. It will make viewers smile, laugh, laugh harder and occasionally shed a tear as it shares the stories of a diverse range of Australians experiencing their last chapter. The campaign aims to improve awareness about palliative care, advocate for increased access to essential palliative care and related health care services for all Australians and help to start important conversations about living the life you please until the very end. Wellington Libraries will be running these free screenings throughout May, to shine a light on National Palliative Week 19 - 25 May.
